Haitink Supreme

As far as Bernard Haitink is concerned, he is just like the country from which he hails- tulips, hyacinths, diamonds, emeralds, and chocolate. The maestro has NEVER disappointed me and his readings have always been revealing and soulfully exuberant. His Concertgebouw(the finest orchestra on this planet) have never been lackluster or anything but glorious. Different strokes when music is involved but for one person to critcise Bernard and say he is “over the hill,” well, i can’t type the way that made me feel. I would suggest that D.H. obtain some q-tips and relax- open your heart and listen. Music is one of my gods- other conductors have made incredible recordings- Dorati, Von Karajan, Jarvi, Ormandy but Haitink has never left me wanting anything more. But this is only an opinion.
