Bach’s motets are monoliths of the Baroque and place great artistic and technical demands on their interpreters: so they are in good hands with the Solomon’s Knot ensemble under Jonathan Sells. The recording contains all the motets of Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750), placed here in the context of the music of the previous generation of the Bach dynasty that shaped him.
