Russell Oberlin’s “supernally beautiful sound”, his virtuosity, expressiveness and naturalness, set him apart from all countertenors. He effortlessly carried his natural tenor voice over two octaves into the alto range, making his singing sound powerful, masculine, homogeneous and intonationally pure across all registers. Collected together for the first time are his complete recordings made for American Decca with seven of nine albums new to CD and delivered to the digital supply chain for the first time.
