This version of the great Quintet for strings in C major D 956 is extraordinary. Great sound, excellent ensemble and an unprecedented depth … I agree with the commentary of the criticism of the BBC Radio 3: “Probably the best all-round version”. The Melos Quartet Stuttgart It is without a doubt one of the best sets of camera in the world and the involvement of the mythical Rostropovich in the second cello of this monumental work of Schubert makes it interesting.
A cd cannot be missed. The second movement simply magical.
