With this album Theo Plath has have fulfilled his personal dream to revel in the music of Romanticism and Impressionism, an era otherwise mostly lost for the bassoon as a solo instrument. Theo Plath, principal of the German Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, plays here in this new album Saint-Saëns Bassoon Sonata alongside Plath’s own arrangements of popular chamber works by Boulanger, Debussy and Franck.
