Truly wonderful singing. Also an ideal recording in a pure accoustic that is custom made for this music.
A very fine recording of this mass, with gregorian appropriates and conclusion by the chanson upon which it is based. (The opening 5-voice motet Sic Deus dilexit is a contrafact of La Rue’s chanson.) Of the already deep setting, the all male ensemble Amarcord makes a dark TTBarBB sound matching the gregorian offertorium De profundis clamavi, and executes a cappella to a standard well above what the New Old Age renaissance has nivellated record editions to. Owning the disc, I can recommend it fully on merit of more than being the only Incessament alternative reasonably available. Thank you on behalf of others for this addition.
