Orff. We miss you.

I’m normally reluctant to make technic musical appreciations. No exception here.
But I can recommend surely one thing:
Try to find ( hard but possible ) the impressive orange box made in the sixties.
The original Deutsche Grammophon edition.
The one with embossed drawings and fabric box.
It’s so delicate and beautiful, that, added to the magnificence of this oeuvre, becomes an incredible piece of art
to love and listen once and once again.
Those vinyl were made on the german ancient tradition of the extreme and utmost care.
plates are superbly pressed, groove is perfect.
Sound is crystal.
Even record inner covers are not glued but sewn with a first cotton paper layer and second silk paper protections.
Along with the Music you get a superb booklet with gravures and sketches.
An outstanding edition to honorate an inmense composition as this one.
I really wish there was much more music of this genius to enjoy.
