If you ever find a copy of this on CD or LP, grab it. Stylish playing by Szeryng on a warm, rich sounding 1744 Guarneri del Gesu violin with the modern setup (not “original instrument” as seems mandatory these days). Combined with Helmut Walcha as a fine partner on harpsichord, you will hear excellent Bach! Szeryng made a famous recording of the solo sonatas and partitas, and I would say this set is equally good.
