Ignazio Albertini = Hélène Schmitt = Delightful Baroque

Ignazio Albertini was a very talented violinist from Northern Italy who played for the most part in Austria;
Much of his history is a true mystery; like where he studied violin, who was his teacher; why he was fleeing from Italy, and even the reason for his sudden death; what we know is that Schmelzer regarded Signore Albertini highly enough that found him a position in the coveted Austrian world, back in the early Baroque; and we also have his Sonatas for Violin and Basso Continuo masterfully interpreted here by Hélène Schmitt.
This Sonatas were written of the highest caliber in the Stylus Fantásticus, and with plenty of beautiful ritornelli.
I cannot recommend this masterpiece enough; especially if you like Baroque Music, Baroque Violin, Hélène Schmitt and “Obscure” but fascinating Baroque Composers.
