Each of the concertos on the present CD has its specific characteristics. The concerto W q. 11 is the manifestation of the new piano style. The passages that the soloist plays alone become more important. Wq.43/4 is, despite its shortness, the first four-movement piano concerto in the history of music. The four movements follow each other seamlessly. The concerto Wq.24 reveals a predominantly lyrical mood with song-like intervals. The composer did not envisage a cadenza for the soloist. Michael Rische is as a concert pianist internationally in great demand. His hitherto existing four recordings of the piano works by C.P.E. Bach attracted a great deal of attention worldwide. The Berliner Barock Solisten, established in 1995, are an ensemble consisting of members of the Berliner Philharmoniker and early music specialists. Their recordings were rewarded with numerous in tern a ti on al awards.
