Magnificent and stirring
I fell in love with Bach’s Mass in B Minor when I took it out of my local library to listen to. I took a risk on purchasing this Archiv production, with the Munchener Bach-Choir and Orchester Karl Richter. It was unknown. But the Mass in B Minor is itself magnificent and stirring, and this production of it is a joy to listen to. This is an amazing piece of music that gladdens my heart and soul as I listen. I don’t tire of it. I highly recommend your purchase of this (or another) version of Bach’s Mass in B Minor (or Messe in H-Moll).
Bach for slow intake
I must have heard this piece of music hundreds of times. I’ve heard it in different versions, from different periods. This version is incredible. It’s serious, sombre, piercing, unforgiving, slow, perceptive, final. It’s a direct link to other worlds (if you’re into this kind of things) or just plain objective – a common feature with Bach’s music. I say anybody if we all have to listen to The Mass in B Minor at least once before we die – it would have to be this version.
Thank you!
Thank you very much !
