This is the fourth volume dedicated to the young Martha Argerich. It is devoted to recordings of works by Chopin – a composer that won her worldwide fame by winning first prize at the prestigious Chopin Competition in Warsaw, which took place during February and March 1965. From that venue has come almost all of the recordings on this CD, with the ballade belonging to an earlier period when she was making headway in the European piano world. The last track is a bonus, a rare performance from Buenos Aires by the 14 year old Martha.
