Jan Dismas Zelenka (1679-1745) proves himself here to be a master of contrapuntal composition, which he makes great use of in traditional passages such as the end of the Gloria and Credo as well as in other passages.
Frieder Bernius has already proved himself to be a congenial interpreter of Zelenka’s music on CARUS on several occasions and this time too, with the Stuttgart Chamber Choir, the Stuttgart Baroque Orchestra and an excellent ensemble of soloists, he is completely convincing.
