Toyhiko Satoh (1981): “PELERINAGE AU ROLLANT” It is not easy to classify Satoh’s “Pelerinage au Rollant”, based on texts chosen from “La Chanson de Roland”, under one subtitle. As an authority in the field of the Renaissance in all its musical aspects, Satoh has made a kind of reconstruction which gives the impression that it has been based on the principles of an old music drama.
