Wow
Anne_Sophie Mutter, the uber star of classical music[replacing the tenors,Deo Gratis] has released this concert taken during a tour made in 1997. Playing with the NY Philharminic can be a maddening thing, brilliant one night, tired listless the nexy. certainly an improvement over the Mehta years,Kurt Masur has been also hot and cold, though on this particular evening, they touched the stars together. From the opening movement of Brahms Konzert fur violine und orcherter,Ms. Mutter and Mr. Masur blend together wonderfully. It is, though, in the end Ms. Mutter’s recording, and she is a full, lush and rich here as ever. Interesting to view the growth of an artist, any artist. Ms Mutter has never been afraid to tackle obscure or modern works, and though this recording is neither, her growth from ,lets say her first recodings of Mozart with th Berliner Philharmonic is extraordinary. The subtlety with which she approches the Schumann piece is marvelous. The recording is excellent, the prerequisite picture of Ms. Mutter in evening gown is there[I think she is beginning to distance herself from this image] Highly, Hugley recommended both for the virtuosity of Ms. Mutter, and the [on this night] the brilliance of Mr. Masur and the NY Philharmonic
thanks for these disks Anne-Sophie Mutter.
Thanks
