The presented album is totally unique on the recording market. Some of the pieces were recorded for the first time, and it is also unusual to hear a combination of transverse flute and organ – two instruments that have not been closely connected so far. The title of the album; “Emotions”, is also an invitation to take a trip through various musical landscapes, shaped by outstanding personalities of European music over the centuries.
The repertoire arranged for flute solo with the accompaniment of organ was chosen from the rich legacy of Polish and foreign composers, mainly those active in the 20th and 21st centuries, although there are also works originating from the Romantic tradition (Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy), representing early Classicism (Christoph Willibald Gluck) or even by such artists as Giulio Caccini (16th century). Contemporary music, presented on the album in the flute and organ tone colours, was written by such outstanding composers as Karol Szymanowski or Krzysztof Penderecki.
These well-known creators, usually included among classical music composers, were also joined by film music authors (Ennio Morricone, Michał Lorenc or Wojciech Kilar). The new arrangements reveal completely unknown flavours of both early, traditional works and those created in more contemporary times.
The flute part was performed by Łukasz Długosz, critically acclaimed as one of the most outstanding flautists, an artist whose career develops around the entire world, showered with prizes and distinctions. The organ part was executed by Roman Perucki, professor of the Academy of Music in Gdańsk, performing in Poland and abroad; he has made numerous recordings and recitals and is an organ music expert, awarded for his artistic achievements on a number of occasions.
