Thanks for this gem.
Sorry Whatever, obviously the whole opera is there but this version was supposed to be on 4 CDs. Did you repack it in 3 parts or did Philips issue a new print on 3 Cds only?
Anyway thanks a lot!
Hi Whatever,
It seems there should be 4 Cd’s instead of 3 (or have I missed something)?
Take care
Michel
thanks so much for this reupload!
in memoriam of the great mr. Hofmann.
Thanks for the great recording. Have no idea why critics were so unkind to Peter Hofmann. Good singing, passion and imagination are all there.
Many thanks again.
Peter Hofmann died last night – 66Y old – he had Parkinson, but probably a pneumonia caused his death http://web.de/magazine/musik/klassik/11676382-star-tenor-peter-hofmann-ist-tot.html

Grazie!!!
For so long I had wanted to listen to Peter Hofmann’s Tristan, after seeing his amazing Siegmund and Lohengrin in the early eighties Bayreuth (alas, from DVD, not live!) and here is my chance! Behrens promises to be a great, feminine, sensitive, fragile Isolde too (am I wrong?), especially if this is a recording made around that time too.
Thank you so much!
you are welcome! nice comment!
