I Cherish This CD!!!
Many years ago I heard a recording of Julian Bream playing a composition by Bach on the guitar. I have been in love with classical guitar ever since. I have many recordings of Julian Bream. This is a fine collection for anyone interested in classical guitar. There are two CD’s in this set. Most of the selections are simply the guitar. My favorite among these are “Recuerdos de la Alhambra”, “Valses Poeticos”, and “Suite Espanola, opus 47/Granada.”
In addition, if you like an orchestra, there are two wonderful compositions on this CD package. The first is Rodrigo’s beautiful piece, “Concierto de Aranjuez.” The second is Vivaldi’s “Concerto in D for Lute and Strings.” In fact, the title of this CD package is somewhat misleading. It is technically not “The Ultimate Guitar Collection.” In point of fact, Julian Bream is one of the world’s finest lutenists. The Vivaldi piece is ,indeed, played on the lute. Not only did Julian Bream open up the world of classical guitar to me, but he also opened up the beautiful world of the lute.
I really do cherish this CD!!! I hope you will also.
I thank you Maestro for your dedication and hard work. What a joy to listen to your recordings!
