Neglected masterpieces
The 3rd, 4th and 5th symphonies are unsurpassed in their originality. It is completely mind-boggling why they
are not standard repertoire. When a person like Mahler, who is completely devoid of innovation and only looking backward, gets played constantly in the concert hall, and Scriabin a man whose music is timeless because there was no precedence to what he did, is completely ignored. Anyways, this set contains the biggest and most raucous rendition of the Poem of Ecstasy; in the climax, massive bells are used and massive gong hits;
a big wall of sound! A must have recording for fans of the Poem of Ecstasy.
Thank you very much.
many thanks!!
Thanks for this rare set.
