Strauss is one of my favourite composers and I have several recordings of the works on this cd. He was a great conductor as well and this is a fascinating record of his skill. I was amazed at the recording quality considering the recordings date from 1940 and 41. Possibly the best item is the Don Quixote which I could listen to several times over.The others are not far behind. I recommend it to any Strauss lover as it complements recordings by the likes of Kempe and Boehm.
