This is simply sublime!
I am aware of the many versions of this wonderful work, and have I think 7 – last time I counted! But this performance is just superb. Not the greatest orchestra in the world, and yet Kempe manages them in such a way that is simply sublime. I would urge anyone looking for another version, or simply wondering what Bruckner is all about – to go for this…while it’s still in the catalogue. The adagio says it all!
