A most moving performace
I am amazed of the intensity and quality of the Prima Donna’s singing in this, her last stage performance and in presence of the Royal Family. Here, as in her last Norma performances in Paris there is a new kind of carefullness and in a new way a very great beauty in her singing – a wonderful experience!
Thanks for the sharing. :P
glad to catch this one from you, Whatever. Thanks again for sharing
Just finished downloading.

I find it sad that she was ‘persuaded’ to continue to sing although her voice was gone and the high notes were affreuse. She should have stopped when her top notes failed her. She was used by her ‘moneymakers’ and by the hope to remain a big star. Pitifull.
Por fortuna la Gran Maria Callas era Ella cuando vino a cantar a Mexico. Pero este CD la recuerda bien como lo que fue ¡LA MEJOR!
Thank you! It is an interesting document, but not a Tosca to listen…
yes this is indeed a historic document for this is her last operatic appearance. But no one knows it better than the Diva herself that her voice was gone. No comparison to her mono recording of 1953.
Thanks!
many thanks!
Callas is Tosca!
Thank you very much for this great post.
I like callas , thanks
