Friedrich Witt’s compositions enjoyed great popularity during his lifetime, but he nevertheless was quickly forgotten after his death.
Witt was an elegant melodist, and he knew how to instrument with mastery. His chamber music for winds and strings interpreted by the renowned Consortium Classicum is highly atmospheric and exhibits romantic traits.
