“Is there a more magical moment in life than this opportunity to present you my record No. 7, designed in collaboration with the wonderful family best known as Mirare! Already seven records together! “Seven, the ‘perfect number’ for Pythagoras. Seven, a magical number, which, according to Hippocrates, ‘owing to its hidden virtues, sustains all things in existence ; it is the Giver of Life and Motion and the source of all change; and its influence goes as far as the celestial beings since even the moon changes phase every seven days.’

“As for this No.7 disc, it is dedicated to one of my favorite composers who, since my piano debut, has always been a very close friend, one I have always had a special love for, Serguei Rachmaninov.

“Ah Rachmaninoff! The pure, warm work of the finest, most generous soul; a work of everlasting, comforting melancholia. Music of lights and shadows, sometimes electric, sometimes unique in its highly personal lyricism. Music steeped in the Russian folklore, folk tunes and dances; the reflected landscapes of his land, of its frozen Russian steppe, of its immense, endless extension… of its Orthodox Church; of its priests’ grave songs during the divine liturgy. The Russian music, that of the Russian people, that of the heart for the hearts, that always sounds regretful and suggestive of better times – a known nirvana, constantly wished for.” – Luis Fernando Pérez
